Film is very much alive in the streets of LA. Independent films. Feature films. Short films. Documentary films. International films. All of this and more can be witnessed at the Los Angeles Film Festival this summer from June 1-9. The official cinematic line up won’t be announced until later this month but opening the festivel will be Lowriders, a Brian Grazer produced film that explores L.A.’s notorious car culture.
Ryan Coogler, who is gearing up for Marvel’s Black Panther will be honored as the festivel’s Guest Director and Selma’s Ava DuVernay will receive the annual Spirit of Independence Award. This year you can find the festival at Arclight Hollywood and Culver City. Tickets will be available to the public on April 12. Stay tuned for more info and coverage on the festivities and lookout for the colorful, impressionistic, official poster for the festival by local artist Carolyn Castano!
