THOR RAGNAROCKS

With a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll, the Thor Ragnarok trailer hit the internet with a blast of mythological action. In Norse mythology, Ragnarok is an end time event that signals the The death of the gods and the universe as we know it. The latest trailer puts us in the heat of battle as we see Hela, the goddess of death, destroy Thor’s mighty hammer with her bare hands. As we see Hela’s dark army take over Thor’s homeworld of Asgard, Thor himself is captured and sent to a battle world where he must fight to the death like a gladiator. One of his opponents turns out to be an incredible green monster that he’s very familiar with.

Though the thought of a world ending event is ominous, this trailer still provides a fun atmosphere with its bright cinematography and the adrenaline pumping Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin playing beside the action. The look of this film is said to be inspired by the comic artist Jack Kirby who created the character with Stan Lee in the 1960’s. We now see a more vulnerable Thor without his hammer and seemingly not as powerful. Incidentally, a new Marvel comic called The Unworthy Thor shows him in a similar weaker state with short hair and unable to wield Mjolnir, his mighty hammer. Just when you though the trailer couldn’t get any better, our favorite green guy shows up. Ripped from the pages of a comic book series called Planet Hulk, we see the green behemoth dressed in gladiator attire.

The trailer begins with Thor saying, “I know what your thinking: How did this happen? Well, it’s a long story.” Judging by this excitement filled trailer, it’s going to be one hell of a story.
Thor Ragnarok opens November 3, 2017.
